Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (or turkey) You can substitute turkey for a leaner option.
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh ginger Fresh is recommended for vibrant flavor.
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Sauce Ingredients

  • 1 cup pineapple chunks (canned or fresh)
  • 1/2 cup sweet and sour sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, breadcrumbs, green onions, ginger, egg, soy sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until evenly incorporated.
  • Form the mixture into small meatballs and place them in the slow cooker.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together pineapple chunks, sweet and sour sauce, and brown sugar. Pour the sauce over the meatballs.

Cooking

  • Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours until cooked through.

Serving

  • Serve warm as an appetizer or over rice for a delightful and filling meal.

Notes

You can prepare the meatball mixture a day in advance; just refrigerate and cook when ready to enjoy. Leftover meatballs can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
